Jake Paul can be a world 'top ten' boxer says former championDAZN

Jake Paul will make his long awaited return to the ring on August 6 at Madison Square Garden.

Despite having just five professional fights on his record, Paul has already become a star in the sport of boxing due to his huge social media following.

But while some fans won't credit Paul when it comes to his exploits inside the squared circle, the 25-year-old is taking his boxing career seriously and a former world champion believes Paul can become one of the world's best.

When speaking to MyBettingSites, former world super bantamweight champion Clarence 'Bones' Adams was full of praise for Paul and his boxing ability.

"I know BJ Flores, Jake’s coach, and he’s been in my gym training pretty much all the time until they moved down to Puerto Rico. Will Jake Paul become a world champion in the weight division he’s in? No. Can he beat other guys that are professional? Yes," Adams said.

"He can beat most professionals but he can’t beat the elite or the fighters who are the top level. He can beat professional fighters, I just don’t think he can beat anybody in the top 20, but he can beat most professionals. But he’s got time, he could probably get top ten in the world.

"He has time, talent and ability and I can tell you that boy trains. He works his ass off. He works hard and he’s dedicated. That’s what people don't understand.

"Jake is 100 percent a boxer, not just a Youtuber. He’s grown with every fight and one thing I can say - that boy can punch. He can punch for sure. He has one punch knockout power with the right hand - he needs to just work on delivering it. You can always improve on everything you do.

"Jake’s never happy or satisfied, that's why he is improving."
