Shane Mosley now holds the responsibility of getting Jake Paul ready for his next contest against Nate Diaz, but the former fighter is aiming even higher.

Once a pound-for-pound superstar, Mosley hit the heights in boxing against many of the sport’s best fighters and now the man from California believes he can turn Paul into a world champion.

The popular YouTuber endured his first loss earlier this year when he was narrowly outpointed by Tommy Fury in a huge grudge match.

Eager to rebound from his loss, Paul goes in with the ex-UFC fighter and if successful against Diaz, Mosley insists the work will continue with the goal being to improve Paul further.

“We're trying to transform him into someone that can challenge for a world title or win a title at cruiserweight one day,” said Mosley when speaking to Sporting Post.

“He needs to learn the proper stuff because he started late like Deontay Wilder. He is athletic, but we need to mould him into a top fighter.

“He needs to beat Tommy first, but that's the way we want to go. I want him to really understand what's happening in the ring.”
