Jake Paul reveals proposed terms for Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano rematch

Jake Paul reveals proposed terms for Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano rematchDAZN

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano's clash at Madison Square at the end of April for the undisputed women's lightweight title was a fight which lived up to expectations, and following Taylor's split decision win, many fans want to see the two go head-to-head one more time.

However, a fight between Taylor and Serrano doesn't look to be happening anytime soon with Serrano next in action on August 6 when she defends her WBC and WBO women's featherweight titles against Brenda Karen Carabajal.

This fight will be chief support to Jake Paul's clash with Hasim Rahman Jr., which UK and Ireland fight fans can watch on DAZN

Ahead of his fight with Rahman Jr., Paul spoke to The DAZN Boxing Show about the possibility of Taylor vs. Serrano rematch and why it isn't happening anytime soon.

"The only reason is that Amanda wants to keep her belts at 126lbs so she is the unified champion there, and they said they were going to strip her belts if she didn’t defend them right now," Paul revealed.

"So she’s going to defend them, keep all her belts at 126, and the money is cool and all, but that doesn’t mean anything to Amanda Serrano, she wants to be the unified champ at 126lbs."

However, while a second date with Taylor isn't in Serrano's immediate future, Paul, who promotes the multi-weight world champion, is interested in the fight but believes it can only happen if Taylor abides to one condition.

"We have money for Katie Taylor too, we have $2m for Katie Taylor to come down to 126, let’s see who really is the pound-for-pound best is.

"I think Amanda Serrano won that fight, everyone thinks Amanda Serrano won that fight."

Paul then went onto call out Taylor directly.

"Katie Taylor, I know you’re watching, why don’t you come down to 126, go against Amanda Serrano in that weight class because she came up nine pounds to fight you. She didn’t look like she was in the same weight class as you that night.

"Come down 126, see if you are the pound-for-pound best, we have $2m for you and after August 6 when Amanda beats Brenda, then we can run it back."
