Jamaine Ortiz is not happy with the conduct shown by WBO world super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez ahead of their clash in Las Vegas on Thursday night.
Lopez, who is often known to speak his mind, has already been teasing a move up to welterweight to face unified champion Terence Crawford before he makes the first defence of his 140lb title.
Ortiz has since been given a chance to respond to Lopez's challenges to Crawford on The DAZN Boxing Show and claimed that the WBO super lightweight title holder is already looking past this week's fight and issued a stern warning.
"It sounds like he’s looking over me, already surpassing that he’s going to get a victory over me and think that he’s going to get a fight with Terence Crawford," Ortiz said.
"He’s got to stay focused, keep his mind right and focused on the opponent that is right in front of him because I’m not going to be easy and I’m going to take his head off."
If Lopez is eager to face Crawford, that opportunity may not arise in the near future with the Nebraska fighter heavily linked with a rematch against Errol Spence Jr whilst also pursuing a showdown with undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
