Despite constantly being linked to a fight with Jaron Ennis, Terence Crawford was quick to offer his potential rival advice after his recent win.
Ennis headlined in his home city of Philadelphia against Karen Chukhadzhian and after retaining his IBF welterweight belt on the scorecards, Ennis faced some questions regarding his performance.
The local favourite’s corner were consistently calling for their fighter to apply more pressure and score a stoppage, but Ennis would hear the final bell before receiving a wide points win.
In the immediate aftermath of the fight, the attention switched to what could come next for Ennis, and that meant numerous names being speculated within the boxing community.
As well as Crawford, Ennis is also being talked about in potential showdowns against the likes of Vergil Ortiz Jr and Eimantas Stanionis.
Crawford, who admitted to not watching Ennis’ victory, took to social media to deliver a message to his fellow Amercian.
“I [didn’t] see the fight, but I heard about it. Stay focused and keep working on your craft,” wrote Crawford on his X account .
"Every night’s not going to be the same. Never get too comfortable in this game, if you trying to get to the Mecca of the sport. Stay on your mission because all it takes is one slip up.”
