Jermell Charlo: I would take Brian Castano rematchDAZN
The 154lb duo could meet again down the line.

Jermell Charlo claimed that he would be open to a rematch against Brian Castano after he fought the Argentine to a draw on Saturday night.

The 31-year-old three-belt champion has no rematch clause with his rival, he noted after the fight.

Charlo also has a mandatory defence of his IBF belt to negotiate, and Castano could be set up to meet Tim Tszyu.

However with plenty of discussion over whether Charlo received an unjustified 117-111 score from one of the judges, there would be interest in another match-up to settle the discussion and potentially crown an undisputed champion at junior middleweight.

“I think that I, of course, would take a rematch,” Charlo said, reported Boxing Scene

“I don’t know when, but I would love to get in there and fight him again.”

Castano was also open to a rematch, but was counting on nothing.

“I think if Charlo is not afraid for a rematch, and I don’t think he is afraid, I don’t know what his plans are,” Castano explained.

“If he’s planning to move up to 160, that’s up to him. But like I said before, I need the three belts that he has, so I’m up for a rematch, of course. But I don’t know what, exactly, are his plans.”
