WBC world flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez has made his prediction for Saturday's IBF and WBO unification clash between Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez and Sunny Edwards.
The fight promises to be a thrilling one between two fighters at the peak of their powers with the winner likely to be considered the number one operator at 112lbs.
Martinez will be keeping a close eye on the contest in Arizona with the Mexican hoping to face the winner at some point in 2024.
“If it’s a knockout, it’s Bam’s fight because of his aggressiveness and strength,” Martinez told BoxingScene.
“Now, if it comes down to the judges I believe Edwards will win because of his technique and speed.”
Martinez was also set to fight this coming weekend against Angelino Cordova in Minneapolis. However, this contest was postponed after a visa issue for Martinez meant he was unable to enter the United States.
