Joe Joyce endured a torrid 2023 as his unbeaten record was taken by Zhilei Zhang before the Chinese superstar repeated the win in an immediate rematch.
Before the Zhang series, Joyce had entered last year as one of boxing’s most feared heavyweights but now he must rebuild if he wants to be taken seriously at the top level.
The 2016 Olympic silver medallist returns in March when he faces Kash Ali and he’s insistent that he’s not finished in boxing just yet.
The current scene is thriving with numerous high-profile fights happening in Saudi Arabia and Joyce is eager to feature in them once he returns to winning ways following the two losses to Zhang.
“I’m still here, I’m not retiring, and I’ve got plenty of fights left to be in,” said Joyce at a press conference to announce his next fight.
“It’s an exciting time. Why retire now? It’d be crazy.”
