Joe Joyce suffered a close loss to Derek Chisora earlier this summer, but it doesn't look like the heavyweight contender is walking away from boxing anytime soon.
Joyce was dropped before losing on points to the former word title challenger, and the result has created plenty of speculation regarding Joyce’s future.
After defeating Joseph Parker in 2022 to become WBO interim champion, Joyce was expected to push on and become a major force in the division.
Two stoppage defeats to Zhilei Zhang halted that movement, and after his setback against Chisora, it could be a long road back.
Adam Morallee, the manager of Joyce, has stated that his fighter shouldn't be considering retirement at this point.
“Joe isn’t the sort of person that should be wheeled out and turned into a gatekeeper or a journeyman, that is not what Joe Joyce should be doing,” said Morallee when speaking to Seconds Out.
“The minute that he starts to not be able to seriously compete at the top level, I think Joe should retire, but he is not there, a fight between him and Daniel Dubois would be very competitive.”
