For Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez, this past year has been a breakout one.

When he was drafted in as a replacement opponent for then-WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras on a few days' notice last February, many fans expected Cuadras to retain his title with ease.

However, Rodriguez produced a huge upset, beating Cuadras on points to become a world champion at the tender age of 22. His first world title defence then saw him beat super flyweight legend Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in what was another dominant performance four months later.

Now Rodriguez is set for the biggest moment of his career so far when he takes on Israel Gonzalez in the co-main event of Saturday's much-anticipated trilogy fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin, which can be seen live on DAZN and DAZN PPV in some regions.

As a result of this meteoric rise, Rodriguez is being linked with many of the division's biggest names including Juan Francisco Estrada and Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, who will meet in their own trilogy fight on December 3.

When asked on The DAZN Boxing Show who he would rather face out of Estrada and Gonzalez, it was a simple answer for Rodriguez.

"I would say 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez just because he’s been in there with everybody," Rodriguez said.

"He’s an all-time great so I feel like he would bring a better fight compared to Estrada."
