Katie Taylor held onto her world titles with a dominant display against Karen Carabajal in a one-sided encounter that she was always in control of.
The key question heading into the bout was whether the Amanda Serrano classic earlier this year had taken anything from Taylor. Still, she answered those doubts emphatically by staying in control from the outset.
Carabajal did have a couple of moments in the bout where it looked like she could gain Taylor’s attention, but the response from Taylor was always positive, and she was always able to ride out any attack from the Argentine.
After ten fairly routine rounds for Taylor, the judges all agreed that the Irish superstar had done enough as they awarded her win number 22 against zero losses.
Scores were 100-91, 99-91, and 98-92. DAZN News scored the fight 99-91 in favor of Taylor.
In the fight’s immediate aftermath, Taylor, who has plenty of options in front of her, made it clear what she wants next.
“Amanda Serrano, we want the fight at Croke Park, 80,000 people,” said Taylor. “It’ll be the biggest event in women’s boxing history.”
