Welterweight Kell Brook is considering retirement after his convincing defeat against Terence Crawford.

Veteran boxer Kell Brook is contemplating retirement after losing to Terence Crawford this weekend.

Saturday night saw the 34-year-old former IBF champion well beaten by WBO welterweight champion Crawford at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas.

Brook held his own in the early stages of the fight before Crawford started to dominate, and in the fourth round he was caught by his opponent and took a series of punches against the ropes, with the referee Tony Weeks intervening as he ruled the ropes were holding him up.

At the restart Crawford then landed a further round of heavier blows, and the referee then called off the fight.

With three defeats to his name, Brook told Fighthype.com that he would consider his future in the sport.

Asked if he would fight again, he said:  "I don't know, I'll just speak to my family, it might be the end of the road.

"Never in my career, nobody has ever done that to me in sparring or anything.

“It was one of them… I got caught with a shot I didn’t see. I’m gutted because nobody could’ve gotten me in better condition. I was bang on the limit. Maybe I could’ve been a bit more relaxed and loose, and let the shots go.”
