King Kenny put on a clinic in the main event of the Kingpyn semi-final on Saturday, dominating popular Brazilian comedian Whindersson Nunes in a unanimous decision victory.
The crowd at Dublin's 3Arena was decidedly pro-Nunes, but Watford, England native Kenny showed that he would not be bothered by the partisan nature of the attendees from the moment he made his ringwalk as he was draped in Brazil colors and accompanied by music from the South American nation.
Kenny then proceeded to back up his pre-match banter with a dazzling display inside the ring, using his range and left jab to keep Nunes frustratingly at bay for all five rounds. Nunes had little answer for Kenny's tactics, with the Englishman making the bout look like a sparring session at times.
From the outset, it was apparent that only a stoppage would give Nunes a victory, but Kenny's game plan — which seemingly included in-ring showboating and taunts — worked to a tee as he eased his way to victory.
Kenny moves on to face AnEsonGib in the Kingpyn final.
