One former fighter has spoken.

Carl Frampton enjoyed a brilliant career as he won world titles in two weight divisions as well as scoring big wins in America.

For a large portion of his successful career, Frampton was guided by the McGuigan family with Shane training him and Barry providing guidance.

Despite early successes with wins over the likes of Kiko Martinez, Scott Quigg, and Leo Santa Cruz, the relationship eventually soured.

A lengthy court case between both parties was eventually settled and Frampton still had many great nights without the McGuigan's backing him. Barry, speaking to the Sunday Times, has had his say on Frampton.

“He [Frampton] can say what he wants but he knows he could not have achieved anything without me or my family and the work that we put into him,” said McGuigan.

Frampton eventually walked away from boxing in 2021 following a crushing loss to Jamel Herring when trying to win a world title at super-featherweight.
