Eddie Hearn believes that Xu Can and Leigh Wood is an intriguing fight to headline this year’s first Fight Camp event.
Speaking on the DAZN Boxing Show, Hearn explained how well the fight is set up for Saturday.
Of Xu Can, he said: “He’s quite a cheeky character. You have one volume puncher, Can Xu.
“We have Leigh Wood, we don’t really know how good this guy is. He came up short against [James] Dickens. But he can punch. He’s taken short money, he’s taken late notice fights and on Saturday night a Brit gets a chance to become world champion [the WBA world featherweight championship]. This guy financially could completely change his life on Saturday.”
The Matchroom chief also suggested that Can is looking forward for his own career.
“Xu Can wants the winner of Warrington-Lara. He’s looking to make a statement, and he‘s a mean dude.”
Meanwhile, DAZN pundit Tony Bellew sees a fairly even match-up.
“Leigh Wood is becoming a bit of a renowned puncher. He’s lighting them up. This Xu Can, we know he’s dangerous.”
