Leigh Wood vs. Michael Conlan: List of odds, favourites, markets, prediction and betting trendsDAZN
All the betting details for Saturday night's WBA featherweight title fight in Nottingham.

The Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham is set to become a bear pit on Saturday night when Leigh Wood defends his WBA 'regular' featherweight title against mandatory challenger Michael Conlan.

Big-time boxing returns to the East Midlands for the first time since Carl Froch was at the peak of his powers a number of years ago, now Wood will be looking to forge his own legacy.

However, his first title defence couldn't be against a more skilled opponent. Conlan is a decorated amateur with an Olympic bronze medal and World Amateur Championship gold medal just two of the many accolades on his resumé.

Saturday night has the potential to be another memorable event live on DAZN and there are plenty of bets to be made so let's take a look.

Wood vs. Conlan odds

(Odds courtesy of Betfred; available for betting in the United Kingdom and Ireland only)

  • Leigh Wood: 6/4
  • Michael Conlan: 4/7
  • Draw: 20/1

Betfred (as of Mar. 10) has Conlan installed as the favourite to win outright at 4/7. That means you would need to bet £70 to win £40 on the result, as well as receiving the £70 stake back. Wood meanwhile is 6/4 to win outright which means that you would need to bet £40 to win £60 on the result in addition to receiving your £40 stake back.

Wood boasts a professional 25-2 record with 15 of those wins coming by way of knockouts, while Conlan is 16-0 with eight knockouts.

Wood vs. Conlan prediction

This fight should be an intiguing contest between two men with very different fighting styles.

Wood will be looking to utilise the punch power he posseses to end the fight before the final bell, but Conlan is a man known for his slick movement and his ability to frustrate his opponents inside the ring.

Taking control of the centre of the ring will be vital and it was something that Wood used to his advantage when he beat Xu Can last Summer to claim the WBA 'regular' featherweight title.

Conlan will also be looking to do something similar, but needs to be wary and not trade blows with Wood otherwise the fight will end up going one way, and that's not in favour of the Belfast man.

His movement will be something to behold in the early stages while Wood will have to remain patient for his chance, but as the fight progresses, the defending champion will begin to inflict more damage on Conlan and could prove too much in the final few rounds.

Astbury's pick: Leigh Wood to win in round 11 (40/1 on Betfred - UK/Ire customers only)
