Luke Campbell: Ryan Garcia has bitten off more than he can chewDAZN

Luke Campbell is confident that he has the beating of Ryan Garcia, despite Garcia's undefeated record.

The 22-year-old Garcia has won each of his 20 professional fights.

The pair are expected to meet in November as they both challenge for the WBC lightweight interim title.

His 32-year-old challenger Campbell lost his last match against Vasiliy Lomachenko, but is surprised that Golden Boy are allowing their boxer to face him.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Campbell said: "He has bitten off more than he can chew. His promotional team must think they've had enough of him and they've thrown him to the dogs. I was surprised they put him in with me."

Meanwhile Garcia has stated that he will knock out his opponent in messages sent to social media, but Campbell is not cowed.

“I'm really looking forward to this one. This is a big opportunity to show the world that I'm not playing games. All these are great at talking, they are playing games. This guy is just playing games. I'll teach him a lesson. He's going to be sorry for this one," Campbell said.

Campbell has lost his two world title fights. Lomachenko defeated him, and before then Jorge Linares. A win would give the victor the chance to fight WBC title holder Devin Haney. The Englishman hopes to finally win a title and acknowledges that retirement will have to come eventually.

“I'm not one of them who is bitter and thinks 'I deserve it'. I just go in and put 100 percent in and I know the best of me can beat anyone in the world. I'll retire when I want. There are no miles on the clock, I'm still fresh but when I've had enough it will be my decision," Campbell said.
