One fighter isn't happy with how things went.

Malik Scott has spoken in detail about Deontay Wilder’s most recent performance when he was well beaten by Joseph Parker.

A win for Wilder would've set up a huge showdown with Anthony Joshua, but he was unable to have any sort of impact as Parker won on points.

This summer, Wilder returns to action when he comes up against Zhilei Zhang in Saudi Arabia on June 1 in what promises to be a terrific encounter.

Scott, Wilder’s trainer, has reflected on the Parker bout and he’s admitted it’s a result the team is ‘ashamed’ of.

"Joseph Parker and Andy Lee had an incredible, methodical game plan. They did just enough to win the rounds, they did just enough to take a chance,” said Scott when speaking to Seconds Out

"At the same time, Deontay was having the worst night of his career. Deontay was unable to pull the trigger and I’ve seen it happen to the best.

“But I believe [Wilder] being ashamed of that performance – and I say this for me too, that’s a performance I’m ashamed of.”
