Andy Ruiz caused one of the biggest sporting shocks of all time when he defeated Anthony Joshua in the summer of 2019.
Ruiz climbed off the canvas to drop Joshua four times before the referee called the bout off and it ensured that he left the ring as world heavyweight champion.
Losing to Joshua in an immediate rematch, Ruiz’s time on top was brief and since his two fights against the British star, Ruiz has only fought twice.
Manny Robles, Ruiz’s former trainer, is eager to see him return and he believes the current heavyweight landscape is something that Ruiz should be a part of.
“I think he would fight in this Saudi Arabia world title mix,” said Robles when speaking to Talksport regarding Ruiz.
“But where is Andy? That is the question. I haven’t spoken to him or seen him in years. I have no idea what Andy is up to, in all honesty.
“He should come back and take advantage of this opportunity that has been given to all the heavyweight fighters.”
