For unified champion women's world flyweight champion Marlen Esparza, facing the biggest name or the most dangerous opponent is something makes her "sleep well at night".

This Saturday, on the undercard of Vergil Ortiz vs. Michael McKinson, Esparza will make the second defence of her the WBC and WBA world flyweight titles against Venezuela's Eva Guzman.

"I'm excited for the opportunity with both titles on the line and it will be very important. I do what I do, I'm ready to perform. My job is to be the best for the people I represent. Not only my country, but also my heritage, my son, my family, my company. I always try to pick the toughest fighters, it's something I've done for a long time. I don't like to fight easy opponents. I never had anyone easy, not even when I came back from my maternity leave," Esparza said in an interview with DAZN.

"Being able to defend the belts I worked my whole life for is huge and I just want to make sure I give everyone what they expect, also give a performance for my team. Me and James Cooper, my trainer, put in a lot of work to get here and the point is to show that we are better," she added.

The Texas native also revealed that her goal is to keep adding world title belts and eventually unify the entire division.

"I want three or four titles, I want the rest. I just want that target on my back to be bigger, it's not that bad. That's why I do what I do. It makes me sleep better at night," Esparza concluded.
