Congolese heavyweight fighter Martin Bakole is sparring with Oleksandr Usyk as the Ukrainian prepares for his rematch with Anthony Joshua next month.

Three world championships are on the line as Joshua attempts to win back the IBF, WBA and WBO straps he lost in September 2021.

Bakole trains in Scotland with Billy Nelson, and had already been sparring with Tyson Fury when he was training for his April clash with DIllian Whyte.

"Usyk really appreciates Martin's skills," Nelson said to Sky Sports. "He's sparred with him over in the UK and before the first AJ fight and now they've asked him back in Dubai for AJ 2.

"Clearly they think very highly of him."

Bakole’s last action came when he defeated Tony Yoka in May this year, but is looking for another fight and Nelson has suggested that Parker is an option.

Parker had been expected to fight Joe Joyce before talks collapsed, with Joyce moving on to beat Christian Hammer two weeks ago.

On another fight, Nelson said: "We're discussing that right now. Hopefully, there will be news very shortly.

"We'd gladly fight Parker, especially if it was an eliminator for a world title. No problem whatsoever. Let's do it."
