Michael McKinson is ready to cause what would be one of the biggest upsets of the 2022 when he challenges Vergil Ortiz this Saturday night, exclusively live on DAZN.
The Portsmouth stylist heads to Texas to face one of boxing’s biggest prospects, and although only fancied by those close to him, McKinson believes he’s capable of shocking the world.
The pair were originally set to square off earlier this year, but the fight was postponed when Ortiz was forced out of the contest with illness.
Now fully recovered, the bout is back on, and although originally frustrated by the first cancellation, McKinson is ready to go and is looking forward to what awaits him in Texas.
"I'm not going to have to be looking for Ortiz this time around,” said McKinson at the pre-fight workout.
“He's a young lion, he hasn't really put a foot wrong, and I'm really here just trying to tame the lion. I'll win U.S. fans like I did last time. A win over Ortiz changes my life, it changes my city of Portsmouth, my team, my daughter and everyone around me."
