Unified super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer has expressed her desire to face Katie Taylor.
Taylor returns to action in a historic event on April 30 against Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden live on DAZN, but the Irish undisputed champion is in Mayer's sights.
"Yes, I would love to fight Katie Taylor," Mayer told Sky Sports News.
"She's done so much for the sport, she's been around since I first started so If I can't get the big fights that I want at 130lbs, yeah I'm going to absolutely move up.
"I'm already a big 130-pounder, I can definitely go up to 135lbs, even 140lbs, so I would love to challenge the winner of Taylor vs Serrano, whoever comes out on top."
While a fight with Taylor may not be on the immediate horizon, Mayer is hoping to become an undisputed champion at 130lbs by adding Hyun Mi Choi's WBA and Alycia Baumgardner's WBC titles to her WBO and IBF belts.
