Mike Tyson explains fight postponement, warns Roy Jones Jr. 'better be ready'DAZN
There's a perfectly good explanation for the bout now being on Nov. 28, according to Tyson.

Those counting down the days to see Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. might have been disappointed when the exhibition bout was postponed earlier this week from Sept. 12 to Nov. 28.

But Tyson has a perfectly good explanation why, and he's jabbing at Jones as part of it.

"Changing the date to November 28th will give more people the opportunity to see the biggest comeback in boxing history," Tyson said in a statement, as reported by TMZ Sports on Tuesday.

Then came the following menacing words from the former heavyweight champion of the world:

"This temporary inconvenience will last longer than Roy Jones Jr. He better be ready, I'm coming full force."

As Tyson alluded to, Triller, the multimedia company that's broadcasting the pay-per-view event, thought that pushing the bout back by more than two months and holding it during Thanksgiving weekend will allow intrigue to build that much more, drawing even more eyes to Tyson vs. Jones.

"Given the enormous interest, the holiday weekend will make this historic battle an even bigger viewing event, marking the first live pay-per-view event brought to the world by Triller as the first of the 'Triller Battles' series," the company said in a statement to TMZ.

Triller is also doing what it can to build interest around Tyson vs. Jones by beefing up the main card overall.

Badou Jack vs. Blake McKernan and Viddal Riley vs. Rashad Coulter have been added to YouTuber Jake Paul being slated to box former NBA guard Nate Robinson.

The Tyson vs. Jones bout will reportedly still take place at the Dignity Health Park in Carson, Calif., without a crowd due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
