MMA star Rampage Jackson has claimed that former undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis is interested in fighting him.
Lewis has been retired for 20 years after beating Vitali Klitschko in a world heavyweight title fight and unlike some fighters from his era, Lewis has resisted any temptations to return to the ring.
But now there is a chance Lewis could lace up the gloves after Jackson discussed a recent meeting with the boxing legend and Chairman of General Authority for Entertainment Turki Alalshikh in Saudi Arabia on an episode of the Jaxxon podcast.
Jackson was hoping to land a fight against Shannon Briggs in the future, but then Alalshikh asked who would be willing to fight the retired Lewis.
“I look around, and nobody raise their hand, my coach was next to me and I raise my hand and said I’ll fight Lennox Lewis once I’ve beat Shannon’s a—s," Jackson said.
"He raised his arm and he was like, I’m down.”
If a fight between Lewis and Jackson to be made, it would be the latter's first combat sports outing since 2019 after losing to Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator 237.
