'It just compliments me!' - Moses Itauma set to spar with Tyson Fury ahead of Oleksandr Usyk rematch

'It just compliments me!' - Moses Itauma set to spar with Tyson Fury ahead of Oleksandr Usyk rematchDAZN
The teenager, one of the most hyped rising stars in the heavyweight division, will partner with the former world champion for his next fight against the Ukrainian.

Moses Itauma believes he can gauge his current level against Tyson Fury after it was revealed he will be his sparring partner for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, live on DAZN.

Fury returns to Saudi Arabia atop Riyadh Season's Reignited fight card to face the Ukrainian for his unified heavyweight championship after a first career loss in their original bout.

The fight, on December 21, at Riyadh's Kingdom Arena comes with a litany of stars on the undercard, including teenage prodigy Itauma, who will fight Demsey McKean.

But ahead of the encounter, the 19-year-old will head into camp with Fury as part of the latter's preparations for his rematch, and admits he is relishing the opportunity.

"I've got my own fight to think about," he told Sky Sports. "We're kind of similar styles, the likes of me and Usyk, we've kind of got a similar style so I feel like I'll be very beneficial.

"It just compliments me. It compliments me but listen, I'm not going to go there just to help him. I want to gauge my ability off his ability. Obviously I'm looking forward to [that]."

It is not the first time that Itauma, who holds a glowing 10-0 professional record since debuting early last year, has sparred with Fury, having been in camp with him before.

"Whether it was inside the ring or outside the ring, I learned a lot definitely," he added. "Outside the ring, [it is about] maybe getting a balance in life.

"Inside the ring being a bit more patient, a bit calmer, not trying to kill everyone. People have pulled out of fights with me and I don't blame them.

"If I was in their shoes, I would pull out as well. I wouldn't want to fight me either. [But] I have to show it. It's all good everyone talking about it but I've actually got to back it up."
