Luis Nery picked out two champions that he wants next after winning his WBC junior featherweight eliminator against Azat Hovhannisyan live on DAZN.
The Mexican delivered an 11th round knockout in a thrilling fight, having already sent his Armenian rival to the canvas in the 10th round, and then forcing a stoppage in Pomona, California.
The current WBC champion at the weight is Stephen Fulton, who also holds the WBO strap as a unified competitor.
“We knew it was going to be a hard fight,” Nery said after the fight. “We were well prepared for a war. We expected and knew it was going to be a knockout and wanted to deliver for the fans.”
As well as namechecking Fulton, he also put undisputed bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue on notice.
“I want Inoue, I want Fulton,” he added.
“I feel ready to go for the world championship, whether it’s with Inoue or with Fulton.”
