Saul Alvarez scored his 60th career victory on Saturday night in Las Vegas with a unanimous decision win over Jemell Charlo.
In what was the first meeting between undisputed fighters in the four-belt era, and Canelo was able to beat Charlo, who put up no resistance to avoid his second defeat at the hands of the Mexican king.
"Nobody can beat this Canelo," was the first thing the Guadalajara native said, who showed his enthusiasm at being injury-free.
"I'm a strong fighter with all fighters. Nobody can beat this Canelo. I showed that I was the best fighter, I decided to go the 12 rounds to show who was the best. Nobody can beat this Canelo," he added.
After an operation on one of his fists and the effects that this had on the ring, Canelo assured that for this preparation he had no problems and that was reflected in what he experienced tonight against Charlo.
For Charlo, Canelo decided to move his training camp to Lake Tahoe to have a more solid preparation and put an end to the rumors that he was no longer at his best.
To prove that his stamina is back, Canelo decided not to sit out the breaks between each of the rounds and carried the weight of the fight in the face of Charlo's refusal to take any chances.
