The two heavyweight champions are set to meet for the undisputed title in 2024.

Unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has revealed the advice he gave to WBC title holder Tyson Fury following his win over Francis Ngannou.

It was expected that a date for the undisputed heavyweight title clash between Fury and Usyk would be announced if Fury made easy work of the former UFC heavyweight champion, but last weekend's fight threw a spanner in the works.

Fury failed to impress as he struggled to impose himself on Ngannou who managed to knock down the world heavyweight champion in the third round. Now after what was a gruelling 10-round contest which Fury won via a split decision, he is expected to take a prolonged rest before stepping into the ring with Usyk.

Following the fight, the Ukrainian shared a piece of advice with Fury ahead of their undisputed clash when they went face-to-face in the ring.

"From the point of view of someone who knows what boxing is – how hard it is after a fight, how you want to howl, not see anyone, rest in the dressing room – I didn’t want any extravagant emotions. I just want to announce our fight," Usyk told TNT Sports

“During our face-to-face I told him ‘Mate, you need to take a proper rest now.'”
