Deontay Wilder perhaps knows Tyson Fury better than anyone when it comes to sharing the ring with the former world champion.
The American star is still pondering his next move following back-to-back defeats, but he doesn't think his former rival will beat Oleksandr Usyk in their eagerly anticipated rematch.
Wilder and Fury shared three memorable battles from 2018-2021 and it’s likely that the damage caused by both fighters has likely taken time off their respective careers.
Since the trilogy, Wilder has tasted losses against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang whilst Fury was beaten for the first time as a pro when going down to Usyk.
On December 21, live on DAZN , Fury and Usyk will do it again with heavyweight glory once again on the line, and it's a fight where Fury will find himself in the unfamiliar role of being the underdog.
Wilder, like almost everyone in boxing, has his opinion on the contest and he’s leaning towards Usyk to repeat his win from earlier this year.
“The rematch, who knows, it’s all about what person brings what dog to the fight. Many times, we have good days, and we have bad days, you just never know,” said Wilder when speaking to Boxing News.
“If I had to pick, I would say Usyk, but let’s see what happens.”
