James Ali Bashir is aware of the talent that is possessed by Oleksandr Usyk and he’s backing the Ukrainian to defeat Tyson Fury for a second time later this year.
Back in May, Usyk became the first person to beat Fury as a professional as he produced a brilliant second half performance to win on points.
With the fight containing a rematch clause, Fury has activated his opportunity to face Usyk again and the contest is scheduled to take place on December 21.
Bashir spent time with Usyk when the current heavyweight champion turned professional, and he thinks there’s better to come from his former fighter.
“I know Oleksandr Usyk won’t be facing the same Tyson Fury in the rematch, but he won’t be facing the same Usyk,” said Bashir when speaking to Seconds Out.
“Just like Tyson Fury is going to go back and correct his flaws, Oleksandr Usyk is going to go back and correct his flaws.
“If I had to lean towards either one of these guys, I would lean towards Oleksandr Usyk because he’s the consummate professional.”
