Usyk will battle Tyson Fury again in December.

Following his historic unification of the heavyweight division, Oleksandr Usyk is now gearing up for a monumental rematch with Tyson Fury, scheduled for December this year.

The two fighters will meet in Saudi Arabia once again, just days before Christmas, in a titanic sequel to their last encounter. Having already achieved so much in his career, rumours have circulated that the Ukrainian could call time on his career following his second meeting with Fury.

However, speaking to talkSPORT boxing, Usyk's promoter Alex Krassyuk has played down any idea that his boxer is ready to hang up his gloves anytime soon.

He said: “We never had any talks about Usyk’s retirement. There were maybe rumours, maybe someone else was giving their thoughts but we never discussed it. This issue is not an issue for us.

“This is always a decision of the fighter. When he feels he has nothing to prove, when he feels he doesn’t want to wake up at 5 in the morning and do three training [sessions] in a day, if he’s fed up with that then it’s probably time for him to hang up his gloves.”
