It was a tough night for one heavyweight.

Adam Kownacki was once considered a future heavyweight champion, but his career could be over following his latest setback.

After climbing the rankings with big support from America’s Polish communities, Kownacki looked a serious prospect after scoring wins over former world title holders such as Charles Martin and Chris Arreola.

Despite the promising progress, Kownacki’s momentum was dramatically halted in 2020 when he was stopped by Robert Helenius.

The Finn would repeat the win the following year before Kownacki was beaten by Ali Demirezen and Joe Cusumano.

On March 2, Kownacki aimed to get back to winning ways, but he was stopped once again when facing Kacper Meyna in Poland.

The Polish heavyweight title was up for grabs but Kownacki didn't get going as he was halted in the opening session with the bout only lasting 45 seconds.
