The announcement came on Thursday.

Ten new names will be added to the The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum when it celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2024.

One of of the highest-profile fighters is Britain’s Ricky Hatton, though there are nine other names included, which will be honoured during the Hall of Fame induction weekend on June 6-9 next year.

Hatton is one of the best fighters of all time, particularly in British and European boxing, and held world titles at junior welterweight and welterweight.

There were a number of other names added the list, the organisers confirmed.

  • Diego “Chico” Corrales (posthumous)
  • Jane “The Fleetwood Assassin” Couch
  • “La Guerrera” Ana Maria Torres
  • Trainer Kenny Adams
  • Manager Jackie Kallen
  • Publicist Fred Sternburg
  • Journalist Wallace Matthews
  • Broadcaster Nick Charles (posthumous)
  • Luis Angel Firpo (posthumous) in the Old Timer category 
  • Theresa Kibby (posthumous) in the women’s Trailblazer category. 

“As the Hall of Fame readies to celebrate its landmark 35th anniversary, we are beyond excited to reveal the Class of 2024 and are very much looking forward to honoring the newest class of inductees to earn boxing’s highest honor,” said executive director Edward Brophy.

Ricky Hatton said: “That’s incredible. You never think of when you lace the gloves on at 10 years old that you’ll end up in the Hall of Fame with some of the great fighters already there. I’m a bit speechless. There’s no greater honor. I’m delighted.”
