Oscar De La Hoya has confirmed that Ryan Garcia vs. Jose Ramirez could take place next after taking to social media to update his followers.
Many fights have been speculated for the Californian fighter including showdowns with Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez, but it looks like the former unified 140lbs champion is leading the way to face Garcia.
After losing his unbeaten record to Gervonta Davis last year, Garcia bounced back in December to register a stoppage win over Oscar Duarte.
Since losing to Josh Taylor in an undisputed battle in 2021, Lopez has returned impressively with victories over Jose Pedraza and Richard Commey, and after joining De La Hoya at Golden Boy Promotions, it looks like Garcia could be the next target for Ramirez.
“Looking like @RyanGarcia vs Jose Ramirez is getting close and happening,” wrote De La Hoya on his X account.
Both Garcia and Ramirez have realistic world title aspirations and the winner of this contest would be in an ideal situation to push on and challenge for one.
