Ever since William Zepeda stopped Maxi Hughes on March 16, one name which has been making himself heard in the aftermath is Shakur Stevenson.
Stevenson is currently the WBC world lightweight champion, but he is yet to announce his first fight of 2024.
That has not stopped the American from calling for a fight against Zepeda on social media and now the latter's promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, has responded to Stevenson and teased a possible date for the fight.
"Zepeda is fighting soon for the second time this year, I'll talk to your promoter third quarter of this year," De La Hoya said in reply to Stevenson's tweet.
