Patrick Teixeira believes he is the more powerful fighter as he prepares to take on Xander Zayas.
The Brazilian is a former WBO junior middleweight champion, and he fights Zayas this Saturday (live on ESPN+ in the US).
The two will battle at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York, and the 33-year-old is looking to defeat the 21-year-old as he looks to build the momentum behind a promising career.
Speaking to BoxingScene, Teixeira believes his opponent lacks the necessary power to compete at the top.
“Xander has an intelligent style, he can box, he is fast, but he doesn’t have a lot of power,” he said.
“After seeing his fights, he doesn’t have a lot of power. Some of the fighters he fought haven’t been at a high level, and others have been easy to knock out.”
