Deontay Wilder wasn't the only fighter to be on the wrong end of a big boxing shock when Day of Reckoning took place in Saudi Arabia last December.
Wilder was defeated by Joseph Parker, but earlier in the night, the heavy-handed Arslanbek Makhmudov was stopped by Agit Kabayel.
With both Wilder and Makhmudov eager to bounce back from their recent setbacks, the latter has welcomed the opportunity to face Wilder.
Both fighters are huge punchers and action is almost guaranteed so getting the fight on could provide both men with the opportunity of redemption.
Makhmudov has welcomed the fight and he’s issued the challenge to Wilder.
“Honestly, yes, I would fight Deontay Wilder,” said Makhmudov when speaking to World Boxing News. “I think it would be a good fight because he is a puncher, and I am a puncher.
“We have the power, and I think it would be a good show. I think it would be a nice fight for the fans to enjoy.”
