Leigh Wood is hopeful that a rematch with Josh Warrington can be secured for later this year, but it must take place at the City Ground.
The Nottingham man is eager to bring a fight to the home of his local football club and that’s the only way a second battle with Warrington can happen after Wood stopped the Leeds man last year.
Wood was well behind on the scorecards before he found a superb shot to turn the bout in his favour before the fight was halted.
Wood has plenty of options to pursue at featherweight as one of the division's best fighters, but if the Warrington rivalry is to be renewed, Wood is insistent that it must take place at the home of Nottingham Forest.
“Hopefully it can happen, but if it can’t I’ll be very upset and I don’t think the Warrington fight will make sense if it isn’t the City Ground,” said Wood when speaking to Boxing Social.
“If it isn’t there, what do I get out of it other than shutting him up for good? Nothing. I’d rather fight for another belt.”
