Promoter discusses putting fallen heavyweight in with Deontay Wilder this year

The heavyweight scene is heating up.

Jarrell Miller and Deontay Wilder suffered shocking losses when they appeared on the same bill back in December, but could they be facing each other next?

Dmitriy Salita, the promoter of Miller, is eager to get his man back in the ring this year and he’s spoken about the possibility of matching the controversial New Yorker with Wilder.

Miller suffered the first loss of his career at "Day of Reckoning" when he was stopped by Daniel Dubous in the final stages of their contest.

Later on that night, Wilder was sensationally outpointed by Joseph Parker in a bout that was intended to be a platform for an Anthony Joshua fight.

With that fight no longer taking place, Wilder is running out of options which means a showdown with Miller could make sense.

“The heavyweight division is competitive because everybody is fighting everybody. Which is great. Jarrell and Deontay Wilder may be an interesting fight. They’re coming off sub-par performances,” said Salita when speaking to Boxing Scene

“So, I do think that there’s big fights out there for Jarrell. He only has one loss in the ring, so he definitely deserves another shot."
