Regis Prograis warns Gervonta 'Tank' Davis: I will knock you outDAZN
The 140lb fighters have been linked with a bout.

Regis Prograis warned Gervonta Davis after ‘Tank’ mentioned his name at the weekend.

Prograis was speaking after Davis’ win over Mario Barrios at the weekend, in a 140lb fight that saw Barrios sent to the canvas three times before being stopped in the 11th round.

Davis earned the WBA 'regular' championship in the process (Josh Taylor is recognised as the body's main champion and as undisputed champion of the weight class outright), but while Prograis - that governing body’s former ‘super’ champion - praised Davis for his win, he issued a word of caution as well.

“I saw the Tank fight,” Prograis said on Twitter.

“Good fight, Tank. Solid opponent. But he ain’t me. So, don’t you ever f— say my name ever again because I guarantee I’ll smash you. And I guarantee Floyd [Mayweather] and Leonard Ellerbe and none of them ------ ain’t gonna let you close to me. So, don’t f— talk. Don’t say my name ever again because I will f—’ knock you out little boy.”

Davis moved up to 140lbs from 130lbs, but the American has fought at lightweight and lower before over the course of his career.

The 26-year-old American has not ruled out any class of fight, including against 140lb undisputed champion Josh Taylor, and the returning WBC interim Ryan Garcia.

Prograis’ last fight was in April when he defeated Ukrainian Ivan Redkach, but has no next fight lined up.
