Ricky Hatton hits out at failure to make Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk

Ricky Hatton hits out at failure to make Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr UsykMatchroom

Ricky Hatton is the latest star from boxing to take a swipe at the recent collapse of Tyson Fury’s undisputed clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

Both heavyweight champions had been discussing a huge encounter originally scheduled for April 29th at Wembley, but terms couldn’t be agreed, and it now looks like both men will head in different directions.

Hatton, a former two-weight world champion, is fully aware of how tense negotiations at the sport’s highest level can become after sharing the ring with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Still a keen observer of boxing largely thanks to the inclusion of his son, Campbell, the Manchester fighter couldn’t hide his frustration regarding recent events.

“I think eventually someone has got to give a little,” said Hatton when taking the time to speak with Seconds Out

“At the minute, it seems like there is no give and if this fight doesn’t take place, with Tyson-AJ or with Tyson-Usyk, AJ-Usyk, if these fights don’t happen it is a terrible shame for our sport, isn’t it?”
