It took Ricky Hatton many years to deal with retirement, but the former world champion is now content following a glittering boxing career.
Fully aware of the pitfalls that walking away from boxing can bring, Hatton has now admitted that he has concerns for Kell Brook and Tyson Fury and what both men will do with their time when not fighting.
Brook retired from boxing last year after defeating Amir Khan, but his name continues to be constantly linked to huge fights including Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr.
Fury is still an active fighter but it appears that he’s in the closing stages of his career, and Hatton has spoken about both men.
“It's well documented what happened to me, I didn't want to retire, and it was very, very hard,” said Hatton when speaking to Instant Casino.
“I worry for people like Kell Brook and Tyson Fury because I consider them my mates, but you have to start thinking about what you are going to do after boxing.
“If Kell’s not happy and he needs to box again in order to make him happy, sooner or later the clock ticks down and we can't go back to boxing anymore. We're too old. I certainly reached that stage. I did my exhibition bout and it was brilliant, but then you have to find another road.”
