Rolando Romero calls out Gervonta Davis, vowing to 'knock him out'

Rolando Romero calls out Gervonta Davis, vowing to 'knock him out'DAZN
'Rolly' fired shots Davis's way following his victory over Anthony Yigit on Saturday night.

Rolando Romero used his platform as the co-main event to an undisputed showdown between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano to blast Anthony Yigit with a piercing seventh-round TKO.

"Rolly," the reigning WBA interim lightweight champion, then used that same platform to call out one of the biggest names in boxing — Gervonta Davis.

When asked who he wants to clash with next, Romero didn't hesitate evoking the WBA "Regular" lightweight champ's name.

"I want Gervonta Davis at 140 (pounds)," the undefeated Romero (14-0, 12 KOs) told Showtime's Jim Gray. "I want him at 140. Time to stop him. I'm gonna knock him out. I know it is (realistic). I know what he can do, but I know what I can do. I'm a lot stronger."

Since Mayweather Promotions works with both Davis and Romero, the fight would seemingly be an easy one to slate.

Whether it gets punched into fruition is another story.
