Rolando Romero came up with an unusual reason to ignore a defeat to Isaac Cruz.
Cruz won the WBA super lightweight strap off ‘Rolly’ in March, and Romero is now poised to make his comeback.
He will fight Manuel Jaimes on September 14, live on DAZN.
Speaking to BoxingScene, Romero gave few details about why he lost, stating: “I don't care. I had a bad day that night. It happens to everyone. I was off before I even got in the ring. It happens. It's boxing.”
Pressed to give an explanation of what was going on before the fight, Romero then gave a surprising answer.
“I don't want to disclose that information. The Feds are watching,” he said.
