Ryan Garcia: I’m going to keep calling Gervonta 'Tank' Davis outDAZN
The American lightweight is gunning for a belt.

Lightweight contender Ryan Garcia said he will refuse to stop calling out Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.

The 22-year-old Californian WBC interim champion had already agreed to fight WBA lightweight Davis when he appeared on Mike Tyson’s podcast following his win over English fighter Luke Campbell.

However, he then followed up that statement by claiming he would be fighting Filipino senator and ‘champion in recess’ Manny Pacquiao.

It is unclear when and in what form the fight will take place, if it ever does, but speaking to Chris Mannix on DAZN’s Beyond the Bell following the Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim, Garcia said he still wants to fight Davis.

“I want Gervonta Davis. I wanted it before the Pacquiao fight,” he said.

“I say his name any chance I get. I’m going to keep saying it, whether people want it or not.

“That's what I'm going to be shooting for. If it doesn’t happen, it’s always going to be the other side. Because I say yes.

“I made the Luke Campbell fight. Yes, yes, yes. I’m in it to get all the greatness I can out of my career.”

Garcia even said that he wants to surpass Muhammed Ali to be regarded as the best boxer ever.

“I’m here to one day be the greatest fighter of all time,” he said.

“That’s who I strive to be, Muhammed Ali paved the way.

“He showed me how to stand up for things I need to. I think it’s my turn.”
