Ryan Garcia believes there are two contenders for the best ring walks in boxing.
Garcia’s former gym partner Canelo Alvarez is often in the mix given his extravaganzas in recent years, but speaking to DAZN ahead of his fight with Oscar Duarte on Saturday evening. Garcia had two other fighters in mind.
He picked the inherently entertaining Prince Naseem Hamed, who made his name not just for his cockingness and technical ability in the ring, but his acrobatic efforts when it came to entering the squared circle, with a flip over the ropes often featuring.
Garcia, who is coming back after a defeat to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis earlier in the year, also picked out WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
He told DAZN: “I would say the best ring walks are Prince Naseem Hamed.
“Tyson Fury is good. I think they put a lot of time and effort into their approach, and it was always entertaining, and they brought their personality into it, and then they performed well.”
