Ryan Garcia provides big update on his relationship with Canelo Alvarez

Ryan Garcia provides big update on his relationship with Canelo AlvarezDAZN
Ryan Garcia and Canelo Alvarez were once training partners.

Ryan Garcia returns to action this weekend as he looks to bounce back from his loss to Gervonta Davis earlier this year.

Garcia takes on Oscar Duarte, a fight being shown exclusively live on DAZN, and an impressive win can put him back in the mix for further big fights once the 2024 boxing schedule gets underway.

Despite his youthful appearance, Garcia turned 25 in August, and the Californian star has endured plenty of change in his career.

Once a big part of Eddy Reynoso’s impressive stable and training alongside Canelo Alvarez, Garcia’s split from that camp was well highlighted, but Garcia has insisted there’s no ill feeling between him and the Mexican icon.

“Business, or whatever [Alvarez] wants to do, for sure. We definitely are cool now,” said Garcia when speaking to BoxingScene

“I've talked to Eddy [Reynoso] and everything is all squashed. I have no hard feelings for them. I spent a lot of time in that gym, and we have a lot of great memories. It's sad to think about sometimes because of all of the fun times we had but that's how life is.

“You have to go through new chapters. I'm so happy for Canelo and I want him to keep dominating and being the champion that I saw in the gym every day. I'm happy for him.”
