Barstool Sports took Ryan Garcia and Emmanuel Tagoe away from their training camp ahead of their fight this weekend live on DAZN with some unusual distractions.
The fight for Garcia is his first since January 2021 when he took on and defeated Luke Campbell to become the WBC interim champion. He stepped away from the sport after that, and then had to undergo surgery for an injury, but is now back in action at a catchweight of 139lbs in what could be a tough encounter.
You can watch the video as, to help him prepare, Barstool took him out to find a suitable lookalike in order to fool his opponent that he was already complacent, to lull him into a false sense of security.
That opponent is Tagoe, who won title after title in his native Ghana and is now looking to follow up his first fight on American soil - against Mason Menard - with a surprise win over 23-year-old Californian Garcia.
A win for either of them would make them contenders for the winner of George Kambosos Jr. vs Devin Haney, as the pair contest the title of undisputed world lightweight champion.
To help ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe relax, Barstool took him to an arcade and gave him a lesson in talking smack before the April 9 clash, shown worldwide live on DAZN.
