The WBO women's welterweight title will be on the line in Sheffield.

Following a frustrating draw with Jessica McCaskill last September, Sandy Ryan is hoping 2024 can be a year which brings plenty of success.

Ryan, who is the current WBO women's welterweight champion, will return to the ring on Saturday when she takes on Terri Harper on the undercard of Dalton Smith vs. Jose Zepeda live on DAZN

However, according to Ryan, she was eager to face Harper at super welterweight where she is WBA champion in an attempt to become a two-weight world champion.

While there was an attempt to make the fight at 154lbs, Ryan instead settled for defending her WBO belt for a second time.

"We tried to get it at her weight but she didn’t want it at her weight so I’m defending my title," said Ryan.

"That’s just the facts. Of course I would have liked to have fought for her belt. I wouldn’t mind being a two-weight world champion. They wanted to fight for my belt so they’ve still got their belt at 154lbs after the fight."
